Fashion Has Always Been Part of My Story

Our story began long before the boutique opened.

Growing up in the country town of Euroa, I would eagerly catch the train to Melbourne whenever I could, spending hours wandering through boutiques, discovering new designers and, if I'm being honest, spending far more of my savings than I probably should have!

Fashion wasn't simply something I loved, it became the way I expressed myself. Friends were constantly borrowing from my wardrobe or asking for styling advice, long before I ever imagined it would become my career.

After studying Psychology, I built a rewarding career working with people living with acquired brain and spinal injuries. While fashion wasn't my full-time profession, it never really left me. Styling friends, following designers and curating my ever-growing wardrobe remained a constant throughout those years.

The Experience That Changed Everything

A move to London would unexpectedly shape the future of Your Secret Closet.

After experiencing burnout working in aged care, I returned to the fashion industry and joined Monsoon/Accessorize, where I learnt so much more than visual merchandising and styling.

I learnt what exceptional customer service truly looked like.

Every garment was beautifully cared for.

Every display had purpose.

Every customer was welcomed warmly and genuinely listened to.

It wasn't about simply selling clothes it was about creating an experience that made people feel confident, valued and excited.

Those lessons have stayed with me ever since.

The Moment Everything Changed

When I returned to Australia, I noticed fashion was changing.

Women were becoming more conscious of sustainability, looking for smarter ways to enjoy luxury fashion without the commitment of buying every outfit they wore. Designer dress hire was becoming a more thoughtful way to shop.

But one shopping trip confirmed something I couldn't ignore.

I walked out empty-handed.

Driving home, one thought kept replaying in my mind:
