Your Secret Closet Terms & Conditions.

By hiring from Your Secret Closet you are accepting and consenting to the practice in these terms of use and our privacy policy. Your Secret Closet reserves the right to change these terms from time to time and at its sole discretion. Nothing in this agreement is intended to have the effect of contracting out of any applicable provisions of the Australian Consumer Law. 

Client (renter, customer, you or your) means the client or any person acting on behalf of and with the authority of the client and/or the cardholder. 

Acceptance – General & minors

The following circumstances constitute your acceptance of these terms:

Your Signature – electronic or actual

Your Confirmation – electronic or actual

If you are under 18 you represent and warrant in favour of Your Secret Closet that you have reviewed these terms with your legal guardian or parent and that you understand these terms. Your Secret Closet will assume that this is the case and provide access to its services on this basis. 

Cleaning & Damage

Your Secret Closet takes care of the cleaning of garments between hires. The client agrees that they will not attempt to clean, press, alter or repair the garment without prior discussion with the store. 

The garment is and will at all times remain the property of Your Secret Closet, nonetheless all risk for the garment passes to the client on pickup/delivery and the client accepts full responsibility for the safekeeping of the garment. 

If during the hire period the garment gets lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair then the client will be liable to pay for a replacement of the item. In assessing the replacement value, Your Secret Closet will take into account the demand of that garment in the market, the availability to purchase that garment in the market and the condition of the garment. 

The client may inspect the garment on collection but acknowledges that the garments they are hiring from Your Secret Closet may not be in their original condition and therefore may be subject to fair wear and tear (determined by Your Secret Closet in its sole discretion).

Cancellations

For a client to amend or cancel a booking they must send an email to sales@yoursecretcloset.com.au with their full name, event date and garment details. 

You may cancel your rental order subject to the following cancellation policies: 

  1. Cancellation 14 or more days in advance of the event there is no cancellation fee and you will receive a full refund. 
  2. If you cancel less than 14 days but more than 7 days in advance of the delivery date, you will not receive any refund but will receive a credit note. This credit note is valid for 12 months on any future hires only. 
  3. If you cancel 7 or fewer days in advance of the delivery date you forfeit 50% of the hire fee as we will be unlikely to rent it again in such a short time frame. 

 Hiring Goods

When ordering online simply select the garment and the date prior to checkout. You will be required to pay for your dress in full to secure it for your event; unfortunately we cannot ‘hold’ a dress for you. We can take bookings up to 3 months in advance. If the dress you wish to wear is very popular then we advise you to book it in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you hire via the retail store located at 571 Hampton St, Hampton, we are open every day with the exception of Sundays and public holidays. 

Rental Periods

Rentals are strictly four days, unless otherwise previously arranged. Our deliveries are completed via Express Post so they arrive boxed and in pristine condition. The day after your event, please pop the dress in the supplied satchel and return to our store in Hampton no later than Monday 3pm. Your garment must be returned no later than the date specified in the instructions at time of purchase. Please remember other customers are waiting to wear the dress after you, and if you return the dress late, we have to refund the customer who misses out. You will be charged an extra fee if you do not immediately return the dress.

Returning Goods

Returning your dress is quick and easy. You can simply return in to the Your Secret Closet store at 571 Hampton St, Hampton. Alternatively if you would prefer to place it in the post then we can provide you with an Express Post Satchel for a $10 fee. If you are late with the return you will charged an extra fee. 

 Late Fees Policy

If you return your rental items late or do not return them at all, a late fee of $25 per day will be charged to the credit card you used for the order. If you have not returned a rental item within 20 days after the return date, your late return will be considered a non-return and Your Secret Closet will charge your credit card or debit card the retail price of the garment.

 Privacy Policy

The privacy of your personal information is of utmost importance to us and as a result of this we will not disclose, rent or sell your information to anyone.

In order to give you the ultimate shopping experience we are required to request certain information including but not limited to, your name, email address, phone numbers, residential address, shipping address and credit card details. This information is collected in order to complete the transaction and follow up in the event that a garment is either not returned or arrived not in the order requested.
